Happy Tuesday, Wormies! This week, I am sharing 10 Young Adult series that I need to read ASAP!

I have been in such a YA rut right now so I thought that looking through my TBR pile would re-energize my YA interest.

I already have the first books in a few of these series, so there shouldn’t be any reason why I haven’t read it yet, right? This year though, I have been reading a LOT of historical romance and I have been putting off YA on the way side.

This post actually made me look into all the YA books that I want to read and I am really excited about a few of these books right now.

I have NEVER read a book by Tamora Pierce before and I have heard LOTS of awesome things about her books. Since Alanna is her debut, I decided to pick this series to start. Four books to catch up on is not too hard, right?

Here is another author that I have heard so much about. And not only that, I have heard AWESOME things about this series. And would you just look at those covers! Plus, the themes of alternate worlds is really interesting.

I was gifted The Wrath and the Dawn but I haven’t actually started reading it yet. I have heard polarizing reviews of this book and I’m also not sure if I am up for a fairytale retelling at the moment. But anyway, this series has been on my radar for a while already.

Zombies! Or technically, the dead are alive! This is also set in colonial America so this is a nice historical paranormal read. I also have a copy of Something Strange and Deadly so I don’t have to go out of my way to look for a copy of the very first book, right? The covers are also GORGEOUS!

I have been interested with Eon for a while now and I absolutely love that it Asian inspired. I mean, this female warrior masquerades as a boy!

So, I am not a fan of young adult vampires BUT this sounds SUPER amazing. It has an I Am Legend feel to it and I am really interested.

The covers of these books are just GORGEOUS! I also have a copy of Walk on Earth a Stranger and I have no idea why I haven’t picked this up yet. This series features a heroine who goes to California because she is a gold seer!

I haven’t been reading a lot of angel books and I am interested in reading this series. It feels like the angels here are the villains, which is very unusual because we equate angels to heroes. Also, it does feel like there is a Romeo and Juliet theme here, which is interesting.

I absolutely LOVE the movie but I haven’t read the books yet! I have an audiobook copy of If I Stay but my friend told me that the book is really different from the movie. So, I’m not really sure if I want to read the book at this time. But I really WANT to!

I was lucky to buy a copy of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before for 50 cents at a library book sale, too! Uhmm, I am not a fan of young adult contemporary but there is just so much hype in this series that I can’t ignore it! This series wasn’t also on my radar until I found a copy at the library sale so I think it is fate?

Has anyone read any of these series before? Which ones should I pick up first?

    • Thanks, Cyn! Alanna feels like a loooong series. I know it’s only 5 books but they are so THICK! hahaha I thought ADSoM was YA… but I keep trying to read it and I can’t seem to get into it.

    • Awesome! I am not a fan of contemporary YA romance, though which is why I don’t really have a lot of drive to read it. 🙁

I’ve heard great things about all of these series but I’ve only read two of these, Alanna and Eon. Of these two, I’d recommend Alanna first. I read it back in my teenage years, so who knows, maybe I wouldn’t like it as much if I were to read it again. I loved it back then though, and gobbled up just about every series based in this kingdom. There has yet to be a series based in the Kingdom of Tortall that I didn’t enjoy reading.
