Bookish Discussion: My Love/Hate Relationship with Author Interactions on Social Media

Bookish Discussion: My Love/Hate Relationship with Author Interactions on Social Media

Let’s talk about anything bookish! It has been over four years since I started interacting with my favorite authors on social media. Some more often than others. Lately, though, I have been more active that normal. Let me tell you a secret. I have a love/hate relationship with author interaction on social media. Let’s not even start with the issue with authors behaving badly. I think I am pretty lucky to have avoided that part personally. Despite all the horror stories that pop up about author-reader interactions, I have a few reasons why I love interacting with my favorite authors. ONE. […]

Currently Reading Week 2

Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads Hello, Wormies! Happy new week! I think this week has been my most productive in both blogging, reviewing, and reading! I have managed to write a few reviews, start a new feature, and even plan for future discussion posts. Amazing, isn’t it? I’m loving this current drive in me, though! On a sad, sad note, my netbook died on me on Friday the 13th. Ah, the irony! Pierre tried to fix it but to no avail. I think if I even went and have it fixed, it would cost more that the original […]

Do Secondary Stories Distract You From the Main Plot?

Do Secondary Stories Distract You From the Main Plot?

Let’s talk about anything bookish! I recently binge read the Killer Instincts series by Elle Kennedy during the holidays and I realized one thing. If done right, secondary stories are actually not distracting at all! Hold up, what?! A little bit of background here. I absolutely LOATHE secondary stories especially if they are secondary romances when I am reading a romance title. One of my pet peeves is when the secondary characters’ romance overtakes the main romance! In fact, I have read a couple of books that turned into DNFs because of this.   One example is A Most Scandalous Proposal by […]

2016 Titles I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

2016 Titles I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish Happy Tuesday, Wormies! If you read my 2016 Year End Stats a couple of weeks ago, you will know that I read A LOT of back titles. As a result, I totally ignored a few titles that were my MUST READS for 2016. The horror, I know, but as you know, I am a mood reader, and these titles didn’t really catch my mood. Anyway, I promise (fingers crossed) to read them this time around. Here’s hoping that I will finally read these titles in 2017. Heartless by Marissa Meyer I actually received […]

Spoiler Alerts: When is it okay to talk about it?

Spoiler Alerts: When is it okay to talk about it?

Let’s talk about anything bookish! The other day while I writing a review and adding spoiler tags, a question suddenly popped into my head (like it does ALL.THE.TIME).  How long should one NOT spoil a plot? Before you go on reading, I would like to warn you that there are a few spoilers in this post so proceed with caution! I am a little on the fence about this one because I rely mostly on books/audiobooks borrowed from the library.  And other than receiving ARCs, I hardly purchase anything that’s hot off the press.  So I am not as updated […]

Currently Reading Week 1

Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads Hello, Wormies! Welcomes to the very first Currently Reading blog post this year! I have been in a semi-binge reading fest over the holidays and now, I have started to slow down. Also, my short vacation is over and I have to work so… #adulting So let’s take a look at what I’ve been reading this year. I actually promised myself to read historical romances first for the Historical Romance Reading Challenge but I’m just not feeling it, unfortunately. I put 4 books on hold 2 weeks into January! This does not bode well for me because […]
