Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
formerly hosted at The Broke and the Bookish
Happy Tuesday, Wormies! It’s Tuesday and I will be sharing the books that usually take me out of a book slump!
Coincidentally, I am currently in a semi-slump so this topic drives really close to home for me! I also listen to most of these books when I reread them. These are the series/books that will ultimately take me out of my slump.
Anything by Lisa Kleypas
Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite historical romance authors and her books ALWAYS get me out of a slump. Just hand me any of her books and it will totally get me out of a funk. I recently reread Again the Magic.
The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
How can I not revisit my boy Bones and my girl Cat ALL. THE. TIME?! In fact, since I first read this book in 2015, I’ve read it 6 times already! Also, this is best “read” on audiobook.
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I love TLC so much that I have almost read the whole series at least once a year since I first read it! It’s such an awesome series as a whole!
Devil’s Rock Series by Sophie Jordan
I cannot tell you how much I LOVE THIS SERIES! I have practically reread this series multiple times! In fact, I reread All Chained Up TWICE this year alone! This is definitely a book that can get me out of a book slump.
Off-Campus Series by Elle Kennedy
This is another series that I can read multiple times! The first two books are my favorite and they are the ones I reread multiple times! This is the first new adult romance that actually hooked me to contemporary romance!
The Scoundrels of St. James by Lorraine Heath
One of my favorite historical romance series is another that I always want to reread at least once a year! This series is inspired by Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens and it was done masterfully I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
The Rules of Scoundrels by Sarah MacLean
Another favorite series that I reread a lot is The Rules of Scoundrels. Also, that last book was just an amazing reveal! I didn’t like the third book though, so I always skip that.
His Forbidden Touch by Shelley Thacker
Once of my favorite old school romances is His Forbidden Touch and I even used a quote from this book in one of our serious/emotional talks with Pierre, so this book really brings a lot of memories. That book has been with me since high school. See the battered copy? Evidence of multiple rereads!
Lions and Lace by Meagan McKinney
Speaking of books that are well loved, Lions and Lace has been with me through thick and thin! This book is practically falling apart because I bought this used when I was in high school! It’s now available on ebook so I definitely do not touch this falling apart book.
Do you get into reading slumps? What are the books or series that can get you out of it?
