When Claire found out a devastating secret about her family, the famous Woodley clan, she ran straight into the arms of a criminal and disappeared for years. But now she’s desperate to escape his clutches and get back what he’s stolen from her: her child. She turns to longtime family horse master Warrick Blackwood, knowing his secrets can get her close to her target.
War doesn’t want to return to the dangerous life he left behind, even to help Claire, but he has no choice. Not only does she know the truth about his past, but he’s never been able to resist her. Her frantic attempt to save her daughter will bring them close, revealing both War’s dominant nature and his heart, but it may also destroy any hope at the future both secretly long for.

Ruined is the fourth book in The Wicked Woodley’s series and Claire’s story!  When I read ForbiddenI have been curious about Claire.  Where did she go?  What happened to her?  What drove her away?  Well, these questions are finally answered!

Where did she go?

I’m not going to be spilling any beans here, but we will finally know the real reasons why she left her family.  We also meet War, this super hot horse master who works for their family.

Ohh, tell me more! Tell me more!

You know how I love reading about love between the classes, and this one has a unique twist on the tale!  Claire isn’t really this innocent little rich girl.  She ran away from her family and had been living with a notorious criminal but she wants out!

I mean, who doesn’t?

I love the reality of the situation, actually.  Claire ran away from home when she was young and she made a horrible mistake.  She wasn’t a perfect heroine, far from it in fact, which is really fresh, considering that this is a historical romance.

I love that she admitted her mistake.  She was a stupid teenager and she has been living with her mistake for years, which was one of the reasons why she didn’t run back to her family despite knowing that her family was really worried.

So, why did she come back?

Now, this one is a shocker because she does have a legit reason to ask help from War.  Hint, hint, there was a little something between War and Claire years ago.

Oooh, spicy!

Oh yeah!  There is a lot of spice and heat and sexy times in this book!

I knew you were going to say that!

You know it!  But that’s not all!  There are a few shockers revealed in this book.  And I mean SHOCKERS!  Because of that, I can’t wait to read the next Wicked Woodley’s!

If you love lots of heat in your historical romance, definitely give this a whirl.  If you’re a Jess Michaels fan, don’t wait to read this now!
