A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare | Audiobook Review

A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts “A fun romance with a geeky heroine!” I have been intrigued by Minerva Highwood ever since I read A Night to Surrender, the first book in the Spindle Cove series.  Of course, we were given a small glimpse of Minerva’s romance and the rogue Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne.  This book has also been recommended by quite a few romance bloggers (I’m looking at you, Mary!) so I immediately jumped on the bandwagon. I was not disappointed! I love Minerva Highwood!  Her strength and unique character really shown in this book.  Although we see it in the previous book, […]

Cress by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Cress by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Before starting my review, I would like to apologize to my readers for posting a blank post for this review a few weeks back.  With my pending vacation (I am still on said vacay), I was unaware that I set this review to post when I haven’t even written it!  So, please pardon my flightiness! My Thoughts Warning: This review may contain spoilers Since I read Scarlet, I have been super excited to read Cress because let’s face it, Thorn is a very interesting character!  In fact, I was hoping that Thorn would be the hero in this book.  I was not […]

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts “Unique.  I couldn’t put it down! A must read!” Scarlet is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles series and it is my favorite (I’ve also read Cress) so far!  I absolutely love this retelling of Little Red Riding Hood!  Ms. Meyer has a way of merging both stories – Cinder ( a retelling of Cinderella)  and Scarlet.  It is seamlessly done and very well written. Scarlet focuses on the story of  Scarlet Benoit (Little Red Riding Hood) and Wolf in relation to the whole series.  Scarlet’s grandmother, Michelle Benoit an Imperial Pilot (or something) has gone missing […]

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo | Audiobook Review

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts I’ve heard about Shadow and Bone a while back but was mildly interested.  I had begun reading more YA books by then via audiobooks and I enjoy that format when “reading” YA books.  The Boss, who works out of state, decided that he wanted to read more books on his downtown and asked for recommendations.  I honestly shove more YA recommendations his way which he reads without question and even finishes the whole series before I do!  Because of that, I decided to go ahead and read Shadow and Bone since he said it was OK. Let me […]

Once More, My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath | Book Review + Giveaway

Once More, My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath | Book Review + Giveaway

MY THOUGHTS Warning: This review may contain spoilers Once More, My Darling Rogue is the second book in the Scoundrels of St. James series by Lorraine Heath and focuses on Drake Darling and Lady Ophelia Lyttleton.  We meet both of these characters in the first book When the Duke was Wicked since Lady Ophelia is Lady Grace’s best friend.  We should also note that Drake Darling is that little boy Frannie and Sterling adopted in Surrender to the Devil who was then known as Peter Sykes. Let me start to say this book is very emotional since it touches on subjects […]
