How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less by Elizabeth Michels | Book Review

How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less by Elizabeth Michels | Book Review

My Thoughts How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less is the first book by Elizabeth Michels that I read.  This book is the third of the series but can read as a standalone.  I initially picked up this book because I had read a couple of books with the same title (or very, very similar) last month and I loved it!  I thought that this book would be the same.  The story focuses on a stuffy aristocrat, Andrew Clifton, Lord Amberstall and country girl recluse, Katie Moore.  Both have been a little estranged in society and found each […]

Evermore by Alyson Noël | Audiobook Review

Evermore by Alyson Noël | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts “Meh…unbelievable” I don’t know how to start this review at all.  Having said that, I know that I am not going to pick up the sequels – ever (pun intended)!  If you do want to try this out, check out your local library (which I thankfully did) to see if you like it. The story starts off pretty strong.  Ever Bloom (right?!) is the only survivor of a fatal car crash and she moves to Laguna Beach, California to live with her father’s twin sister.  The result of the car crash?  She can see auras and can read […]

Woo’d in Haste by Sabrina Darby | Book Review

Woo’d in Haste by Sabrina Darby | Book Review

My Thoughts Woo’d In Haste is the first book of the Taming series by Sabrina Darby and is a retelling of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.  This is a longish novella about 150 pages and it read like a novella.  Woo’d In Haste tells the story of Miss Bianca Mansfield and Lucien Dorlingsley, Viscount Asquith and how they “fell” in love. This is the first book that I read by Sabrina Darby.  Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy it as much.  Maybe owing to the “live at first sight” trope.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I do love a […]

Abducted by the Prince by Olivia Drake | Book Review

Abducted by the Prince by Olivia Drake | Book Review

I received this book for free from the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.   My Thoughts “Meh.  I was disappointed.” Abducted by the Prince is Olivia Drake’s third book in the Cinderella Sisterhood series and can be read as a standalone.  I requested this book from Netgalley because I wanted to read about long lost Princes.  I was really disappointed, though.  Initially, I thought it would be an awesome read and I liked the characters but the story just fell short and […]

Redemption of the Duke by Gayle Callen | Book Review

Redemption of the Duke by Gayle Callen | Book Review

My Thoughts “Disappointing.  Blah and boring.” I was extremely disappointed with this story.  I enjoyed previous Gayle Callen books but this was tedious and just plain boring. Although Adam Chamberlin, the Duke of Rothford was intriguing, he became dull and not likable early in the story.  I also did not relate to Faith at all and did not warm up to her immediately which is an odd thing for me. I also had bad vibes with this book since I have read unsatisfactory reviews on this so far but I still forced myself to read it and waited until the […]

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart by Sarah MacLean | Book Review

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart by Sarah MacLean | Book Review

My Thoughts “A little bit frustrating but ok” Eleven Scandals is the third book in the Love by Numbers series and it features Juliana Fiori and Simon Pearson, Duke of Leighton (we know him as the fiance of Lady Penelope in A Rogue by Any Other Name). In Eleven Scandals, we find out the real reason why Simon is averse to scandal. His younger sister is actually embroiled in a scandal herself and he plans to wed before the ton gets a whiff of it. Enter Lady Penelope Marbury (read my review for A Rogue by Any Other Name), who is […]

No Ordinary Mistress by Robyn DeHart | Book Review

No Ordinary Mistress by Robyn DeHart | Book Review

My Thoughts No Ordinary Mistress is Robyn DeHart’s first book in her series Masquerading Mistresses.  This is a novella and I was a little bit surprised how well the story flowed despite it being a little bit short for my taste. The two protagonists: Emma Masterson and Remington (love that name, BTW) Hawthorne, Earl of Latham are spies for the Crown.  To complicate things, there are (were) partners.  The story opens two years before when both Emma and Remy (Remington) were on assignment together and both had a falling out.  Emma, being an independent woman that she is, did not want […]
