The Trouble with Princesses by Tracy Anne Warren | Book Review

The Trouble with Princesses by Tracy Anne Warren | Book Review

This is the first book in the series that I actually read and finished (not counting the audiobook  that I listened to for The Princess and the Peer that I didn’t finish).  That being said, Tracy Anne Warren is one of my favorite authors.  For some reason, I just couldn’t get past Emmaline’s story and stopped listening altogether.  I guess it must be because I was “reading” an audiobook which I am not used to reading.  I may have to rethink the whole series and read the other two books sometime next year. The book can be read as a […]

When the Marquess Met His Match by Laura Lee Guhrke | Book Review

When the Marquess Met His Match by Laura Lee Guhrke | Book Review

My Thoughts I love Laura Lee Guhrke and was excited when I found out that she would be featuring American Heiresses in her next series.  Although I am a fan of her work (especially the Girl Bachelor series), I was a little bit disappointed about this one which is why I rated it 3.5 hearts. I had a hard time warming up to Belinda Featherstone and a little bit put off my Nicholas.  The heroine is unlike LLG’s heroines that I know and love.  Belinda, being an American, is a widow of an earl who married her for her money, […]

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis | Book Review

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis | Book Review

“An edge-of-the-seat alien adventure” Shades of Earth picks up right after the second book, A Million Suns ends with more than half of the Godspeed population boarding the escape shuttle so they can finally land on Centauri-Earth.  Naturally, things go wrong when they land with a few of the people dead, and a pterodactyl-like gigantic bird attacks Elder.  Both Amy and Elder think that the ship was intentionally knocked off course and both decide not to explore the new world as yet.  Amy, in her rush and excitement, had already started de-frosting the Earth-born military personnel who, when they wake up, is […]

When the Rogue Returns by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

When the Rogue Returns by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

While I was a little bit disappointed with What the Duke Desires, the first book in The Duke’s Men Series, I was blown away by When the Rogue Returns.  The premise caught my eye when I read it a few months back and I couldn’t wait.  I wasn’t disappointed.  I love the story of Victor and Isa and how they found each other again after 10 years.  It wasn’t as emotional as some of Sabrina’s other books but I think it had a lot heart. We first meet Victor Cale in What the Duke Desires and I found myself being intrigued by […]

A Million Suns by Beth Revis | Book Review

A Million Suns by Beth Revis | Book Review

The sequel to Across the Universe, A Million Suns starts three months after Amy Martin woke up from being frozen the Cryo level.  At this point, they have gotten rid of Phydus and stopped Orion from killing off all the frozen military personnel on Godspeed.  Naturally, chaos ensues as the shipborns slowly “wake up” from the influence of Phydus.  It is also at this time that Amy is given a wi-com by Doc which was made by Orion.  Amy finds out that Orion had been leaving her clues as to the secret to Godspeed.  While Elder tries to pacify the shipborns and to prevent a […]

‘Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries [Book Review]

‘Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries [Book Review]

This is the second time that I read ‘Twas the Night After Christmas and I am amazed at how touched I still am with it.  In fact, certain parts of the book have brought me to tears.  Normally, I am not a fan of reading about children in the books that I read but the presence of the child actually enhances the story and I think Lord Devonmont would not find his redemption without the child. This story was the right choice to release in hardbound last year.  The story is typical Sabrina Jeffries style with lots of emotion and […]

In Love with a Wicked Man by Liz Carlyle | Book Review

In Love with a Wicked Man by Liz Carlyle | Book Review

I was really excited to read Liz Carlyle’s newest historical romance, In Love with a Wicked Man.  Although I love the premise of the story, I thought some of it was a little bit too fast paced for me. Basically, the story is about redemption with a little bit of amnesia added in the mix.  The heroine first meets the hero, Lord Edward Quartermaine when he falls off his horse trying to avoid her horse resulting in a temporary amnesia.  Because Kate felt guilty about the situation, she takes in the man and nurses him back to health.  Well, sort of, since […]
