A woman who defies her time
Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female physician in England, is as daring and independent as any man—why not take her pleasures like one? Yet she has never been tempted to embark on an affair, until now. Ethan Ransom, a former detective for Scotland Yard, is as gallant as he is secretive, a rumored assassin whose true loyalties are a mystery. For one exhilarating night, they give in to their potent attraction before becoming strangers again.
A man who breaks every rule
As a Ravenel by-blow spurned by his father, Ethan has little interest in polite society, yet he is captivated by the bold and beautiful Garrett. Despite their vow to resist each other after that sublime night, she is soon drawn into his most dangerous assignment yet. When the mission goes wrong, it will take all of Garrett's skill and courage to save him. As they face the menace of a treacherous government plot, Ethan is willing to take any risk for the love of the most extraordinary woman he's ever known.

I don’t know how to start reviewing Hello Stranger! I have been waiting for this book for OVER A YEAR now and I thought I would be blown away! I wasn’t but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it! Hello Stranger was an interesting read!
Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite authors and I am absolutely glad that she wrote historical romances again! I read an excerpt of Hello Stranger last year, which whetted my appetite for it! The premise is everything that I love: unconventional heroine and a spy hero! Also, both of the main characters are not aristocrats!
Dr. Garrett Gibson is the only female doctor in London and knows the art of cane fighting! She is actually a minor character in the previous two books, Marrying Winterborne and Devil in Spring and she was amazing in both!
Unfortunately, Garrett didn’t really shine in her own book. There is a backdrop of mystery and espionage in this book because Ethan Ransom is trying to find traitors to the crown. And as much as I liked the intrigue, I wanted more interactions between Garrett and Ethan.
Overall, I enjoyed Hello Stranger but not as much as I thought I would. There were parts that were funny and there were parts that actually had me on the edge of my seat! I also loved the medical descriptions because it really made me get into the setting.

Do you love reading historical romances featuring characters not in the aristocracy?
What about historical spies or undercover agents? I personally LOVE these heroes! In fact, one of my favorite Lisa Kleypas series is her Bow Street Runners series.
ive heard so much about this series
I went to Strand book store in NYC last week, heard Lisa Kleypas speak & got a signed book! I actually loved the book. Garrett and Ethan both surprised me in how romantic they were. There was a little more suspense than I am used to in her books, but I didn’t feel it detracted from the romance. Plus, how beautiful is the cover?
Oh, LOL, I see you don’t like the cover. It isn’t historically accurate, but that doesn’t bother me. I love the color!
LOL yes, I HATED the cover. The colors are good but that gown tho?! Gaaahh I posted a Youtube video about it, too! haha
OMG! You are so lucky! I would give my left lung to see her! I wish she went to more book signings!
depends how they’re written
Looking forward to meeting the Ravenels. Thank you
Everyone I know is reading a Lisa Kleypas book and I’ve yet to check them out, great review!

Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite historical romance authors! You have to check her out! Her heroes are so dreamy and swoony!
I will recommend that you start with her Wallflowers series! But before you start that series, read Again the Magic…it is a standalone book but is usually referred to as Wallflowers 0.5
I love the cover! The characters in this book sound fun to get to know.
This is actually one of my least favorite covers! It just doesn’t feel like it’s “historical” enough!
