Let’s talk about anything audiobookish!
June is Audiobook month and to celebrate, I want to share my favorite romance audiobook narrators! These awesome people have helped me finish AND love a slew of books! Audiobooks have also helped me “read” more books than ever because I can read during my daily commute (which is about 3 hours round trip). If you haven’t tried audiobooks, pick a book read by these awesome authors and start listening!
Favorite Romance Audiobook Narrators
Tavia Gilbert
Halfway to the Grave | One Foot in the Grave | Night Prince Novels
Tavia Gilbert does awesome voices! Especially Bones’ Cockney accent! She narrates all of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Novels, Night Prince Novels and Night Huntress World series. If you love PNR, Tavia Gilbert narrating these books is totally worth it!
Grace Grant
Grace Grant is an awesome narrator. Whether she reads just the female POV or solely narrates the books, she is amazing! I love her male voice so much, too!
Madeline Maybe
Searching for Series | Any Time and Any Place
Madeline Maybe is another favorite narrator! She reads all of Jennifer Probst books and she is perfect for the genre!
Mary Jane Wells
Devil in Spring | Hello Stranger | The Duchess Deal
Mary Jane Wells has an awesome breathy voice perfect for historical romance! I have heard her only read historical romance books and all of them have been even more enjoyable when read by her!
Sophie Eastlake
Wait for You | Be with Me | Rule
Sophie Eastlake is another favorite! I first listened to her when she read Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout writing as J. Lynn. She is awesome as the female narrator and does not use annoying high pitched tones!
Justine Eyre
Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover | Day of the Duchess | A Lady Never Surrenders
Justine Eyre is another narrator that has a distinct awesome voice! She narrates historical romance and YA fantasy. I first heard her narrate a YA fantasy book and was delighted when I found out that she also narrates historical romance!
Christian Fox
All Chained Up | Fury on Fire | Beautiful Lawman
Christian Fox is the first ever male narrator that I fell in love with – his voice anyway! All Chained Up was an amazing book and was even more amazing because of his narration. He also doesn’t use a pitchy female voice that I was okay with him narrating the whole book by himself.
Richard Armitage
I’ve only listened to one audiobook read by Richard Armitage and I AM IN LOVE! OMG! If he narrates more romance books I would definitely, definitely swoon!
Sebastian York
Sebastian York is perhaps the most popular male romance narrator and he does have an extremely dreamy voice!
Do you love audiobooks? Who are your favorite romance audiobook narrators?
Thanks for sharing! A good audiobook narrator can make or break the listening experience for sure.
My fave is probably Juliet Stevenson. Her narrations of the various Jane Austen novels make them so much more accessible.
That’s awesome! I may try listening to Jane Austen books because I seriously HAVEN’T read any of her books! I know that is shocking for a historical romance reader. 😉
I do love Sebastian York, although I feel his voice really lends itself best to certain kinds of characters. I also love Joe Arden and then Will Watt does a great English accent. Also, Andi Arndt is great for all of the Kylie Scott books. This is such a fun post! The more I listen to audiobooks, the more I find narrators I love.

Yes! I agree! The more audio books I’ve listened to, the more I narrators I enjoy listening. I also think narrators are a personal preference, which is why it’s very hard for me to get into a lot of the other popular narrators 🙂
I haven’t listened to most fo these. I love Justine Eyre though! Great pick. I will certainly check the rest out!

I was in a contemporary craze at one point so I binged a lot of these books! 🙂
Besides the ones you mentioned I also love Kate Rudd and Savannah Richards narrators.
Oh, I haven’t heard them narrate before! What books have they done?
Great post! I need to get more into audiobooks this year! I heard a lot about Sebastian York!
Thank, Kayla! Sebastian York is a very popular male narrator, especially in contemporary romance! He is really great! I hope you find audiobooks that you love!
