Favorite Historical Romance Books Published Before 1995

Top Three Tuesday is my spin on Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

It’s no secret that I started reading romance – historical romance, in particular – when I was about 11 years old. I first picked Harlequin Historicals and then discovered even more old school romances and I was hooked!

Here are some of my favorites from when I was in high school!

Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas
Why I love this

Ah, there are so many things to love with Dreaming of You. This is the first historical romance where both heroine and hero were non-aristocrats!

Not only that, Sara saved Derek when he was attacked in an alley at night! This book is just amazing even after multiple rereads!

Lions and Lace by Meagan McKinney
Why I love this

Lions and Lace was the first Gilded Age romance that I read and it’s still the best even after multiple rereads!

This marriage of convenience, enemies-to-lovers, social class disparity romance ticked all my boxes! Plus, Trevor Sheridan is dreamy!

FYI: This book is available on KU and Audible Escape!

A Battle of Love by Cynthia Wright
Why I love this

I remember reading A Battle for Love when I was a senior in high school and man this was epic!

I love the court intrigues, the deception, and a mystery! And this book is set in France and England!

What attracted me first was the cover! This cover is AMAZING! But seriously, there is just no battle or war in this book! LMAO
