Friday Faves: A New One-Click Author

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Happy Friday everyone! This week, I am sharing my new one click author Sarah MacLean. I finished the three books in The Rule of Scoundrels series and have started on the third book in her debut series Love by Numbers.  I just barely started reading Eleven Scoundrels to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart and I love the sparks flying between the H and h!  Another thing I love about Sarah MacLean is the unexpected twist that she added in […]

Top Ten Tuesday Rewind: Bookish Resolutions

Top Ten Tuesday Rewind: Bookish Resolutions

Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish I decided to pick the Top Ten Bookish Resolutions for the rewind topic today.  So far, I haven’t made a dent with this list… figures 🙂 Reach my reading goal of 60 books.  Last year, I was 7 books shy of making my goal.  All of those books were on my currently reading list and I loathe the fact that I wasn’t able to read anything in December.  Check out my 2013 year in [Book] Review. Read books written by Filipino authors.  I am Filipino and I am personally disappointed by myself because […]

Friday Faves: For the Love of Young-Adult Books

Friday Faves: For the Love of Young-Adult Books

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. I have been in a Young-Adult kick for the last couple of weeks and I have been picking up more YA books than usual.  Good thing, too because I found a little gem hidden in my TBR pile since last year.  This little book is called These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.  What an amazing read!  More about this when I finally get the time to review the book.  And don’t you just love the cover?

Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader

Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader

Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish I ❤ being a reader and I have been reading since I was child.  As a matter of fact, I was told that I would not sleep if no one would read me a bedtime story.  I still don’t sleep without reading at least a few pages. I ❤ Reading because… I get to travel to the moon and back.  Yes, I have been to different places, times, and even other planets just because of reading.  My latest trip was aboard the Icarus in These Broken Stars. I get to meet different characters.  Oh, and even interact […]

January Reading Updates

January Reading Updates

January was a tough month for me – especially the last couple of weeks.  I really had high hopes for this month and I failed.  Although I read quite a few books, it’s still not what I had envisioned my month to be.  Okay, so I had a valid excuse – working really hard for the last three weeks because our annual survey was coming up PLUS month end closing AND we had to move to a new apartment!  Still, I bemoan the loss of my reading time. On a good note, I read 6 books in January; currently reading […]

Happy New Year everyone! How many of these books have I read? I have read 10/100

How many of these books have I read? I have read 10/100

Apparently the BBC reckons most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.  In 2009, I did this little survey and I have only read 9.  Let’s see if this has changed 4 years later.   Instructions 1) Look at the list and put an ‘x’ after those you have read. 2) Add a ‘+’ to the ones you LOVE. 3) Star (*) those you plan on reading. 4) Tally your total at the bottom. 5) Put in a note with your total in the subject 1 Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen  (I have this book […]
