Last month’s deets on I Heart Romance & YA
Oh bookworms, I have FAILED you all! Yes, I HAVE! This month has been SUPER epic in more ways than one. First, I wasn’t blogging at all, which wasn’t really something new BUT I also wasn’t posting on BOOKSTAGRAM! Oh, the horrors! I know, this wasn’t my month at all.
Although I was a failure in blogging and bookstagram output, I was EPIC in reading (or listening) input! I clocked in at 10 books read with multiple books that I’m currently reading! Isn’t that amazing? I blame contemporary romance because they are just like popping candy! Oh, did I mention that I have been reading a lot of contemporary romances?
Alas, I am now back to reading historicals and YA since I have quite a few that I can’t wait to read!
Clocking in at 71, I am 9 books away from my goal of 80, and it’s not even close to the end of the year! Well, I know it is close, but we still have a few months away which may result in reads over 80! I’m not complaining but I must admit that with only 31 books reviewed, I am waaaay behind in my review goal. Hopefully, I will be able to pick up before the year ends.
Apparently, Queen of Shadows still remains to be the longest book read. This may change when I finish reading Empire of Storms!

Empire of Storms releases on September 6 | Crooked Kingdom releases on September 27
Who else is excited to Empire of Storms and Crooked Kingdom? I FREAKING AM! Plus, I will be meeting Leigh Bardugo again next month!

Who else has seen the disappointment that was Suicide Squad? Sigh* With the choppy plot, I couldn’t get into it! I just don’t! In fact, the only character that intrigued me was Diablo! I’m not saying that Deadshot and Harley Quinn weren’t good but they weren’t as interesting as I hoped they would be.
I watched Stardust last month and I can’t help but be transported back to Gaiman’s story! It’s been years since I last read the book and now, watching the movie makes me want to go back and read it! Maybe in audiobook format this time! Also, whoever thought of the Babylon Candle is just pure genius! I know it’s Gaiman!
A couple of friends and I have been chatting up a storm on messenger and we have sort of reformed our “book club.” Although we don’t technically read the same types of books, we still manage to find a common ground. Oh, and just so you know, there is ALWAYS talk of food, sleep, and loathing for adulting. And let’s not forget random movie/TV references.
Have you been in some sort of a reading, blogging, or bookstagram slump? Any tips as to how to get out of it?
