Ten Books I Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To

Ten Books I Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish We are now in our second week of January and I have to admit that I am already in a reading slump! I know, it’s too early to be n a slump but if you were binge reading like crazy in December like I did, well, I won’t blame you if you are already in a slump. Anyway, if you read my 2017 Reading Stats, you will know that I didn’t read a lot of YA books and I have to admit that a few of my most awaited books […]

Goodreads Choice Awards Should Add More Romance Categories!

Goodreads Choice Awards Should Add More Romance Categories!

Let’s talk about anything bookish! Hello, Romance Bookworms! We are finally in mid-December and the year is almost over. Obviously, we are now familiar with the Goodreads Choice Awards and I have WORDS! Disclaimer: I read YA, so this post is NOT an attack on YA. I am just speaking out for more adult romance representation. This is probably an unpopular opinion because I think there should be more romance categories! Why? Because it’s ROMANCE and it is the biggest genre in the industry, that’s why! I mean, come one! There are TWO Young Adult categories. TWO! So, why can’t there be TWO romance categories? And I mean, ADULT ROMANCE. And […]

4 Easy Peasy Ways to Automate Your Blog Posts

4 Easy Peasy Ways to Automate Your Blog Posts

Let’s talk about anything bookish! I have been blogging for a number of years and it used to be a chore for me. I am a stickler for uniformity and I LOVE to have a format/look for each of my posts. I used to take SO MUCH TIME just formatting my posts and it came to a point where I dreaded posting. Most especially when reviewing them because I also want to include the book details and everything! The good news is, I have found a better way to automate all my posts, not just review posts, but ALL of my […]

Creating a Blogging Schedule that Works for You

Creating a Blogging Schedule that Works for You

Let’s talk about anything bookish! I am perhaps what one might call a seasonal blogger. It does seem like a blog more often or not depending on the season. I am a mood reader and apparently, this also means I am a mood blogger. Also, I have seen quite a number of bloggers say how they want to post more or how they don’t have time to post. YEAH, THESE ARE EXACTLY MY PROBLEMS, TOO! Anyway, because of my faults, I have set-up a blogging schedule that works perfectly for me and I hope, for you as well! TIP: Create […]

8 Authors I Want My Future Children to Read

8 Authors I Want My Future Children to Read

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish Well, we don’t have children yet, but when we do, they will definitely be bookworms! (One can only hope!) Okay, I can’t guarantee that but I will definitely start ’em young and get them to read the books that left a lasting impression on my young mind. It is my hope that my future children will be lovers of the written word. J.K. Rowling This series really made an impact in my childhood. Okay, so I read Harry Potter in high school so… ehemm. Anyway, I would definitely get my future […]

Things I Learned About Myself After Reorganizing My Bookshelf

Things I Learned About Myself After Reorganizing My Bookshelf

Let’s talk about anything bookish! I finally reorganized my shelf for the first time this year! I know some of you reorganize your shelves multiple times a year, but I am not one of those people! (But I’m honestly JEALOUS of them) The process of reorganizing my shelf was a tough one. On a whim, I bought a new shelf and added it to the already two shelves in our living room. Mind you, we don’t have a HUGE space and we only have one big room which doubles as our living room/dining room. And now, it now my library! Naturally, […]

How to Increase Your Netgalley Health

How to Increase Your Netgalley Health

Let’s talk about anything bookish! For those of us who review books, we are very familiar with Netgalley. What struck me one day was a conversation I had with one of my friends who said that her Netgalley feedback ration was soooo low, and how could she raise it higher? On Netgalley, the suggested feedback ration is 80% or higher. This means that you get a higher chance of getting approved when you request galleys. This also means that you have sent reviews/feedback on the books that you have requested. My current Netgalley feedback ratio is 86%. But it wasn’t always that way! […]

Why It Sucks Being a Mood Reader

Why It Sucks Being a Mood Reader

Let’s talk about anything bookish! If you have been following my blog, you will know that I am a mood reader. What this means is that I pick a book based on my moods or what I’m currently feeling. This also means that I am unable to follow any sort of TBR or any sort of themed challenge where I pick the books that I will be reading for a specified period. I joined the ARC August challenge last month and it was clearly obvious based on my challenge results that I ultimately failed the challenge. See, I lined up books that […]
