My Thoughts Wed at Leisure is the second book in the Taming series by Sabrina Darby and tells the story of Kate Mansfield, the mean sister in Woo’d in Haste. This time, we will find the true reason why Kate was mean to her sister Bianca. We also see glimpses of Kate’s past with Peter Colburn, the Duke of Orland, their neighbor. Although this book is way better than Woo’d in Haste, it still did not reach the mark for me. There was nothing really special about this story and nothing that made me like Kate at all. So, her […]

My Thoughts A Night to Surrender is the second book that I read from Tessa Dare. I read Any Duchess Will Do (the 4th book in the series) first because I love to start reading a series out of order (insert sarcasm here). This is also the first audiobook that I have listened to since last year’s audiobook debacle. Why go back to audiobooks, you ask? Well, I saw a Groupon for a free 2-month audiobook trial and well, tried it. This is the first “purchase” I have with the system. A Night to Surrender is the first book in […]
My Thoughts I initially read Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake a couple of years ago and DID NOT finish it! Gasp! I know, right? Then last year, I picked up One Good Earl Deserves a Lover and I was hooked! I immediately went back and read her backlist and I am so glad that I did. The story takes place 10 years later when Callie, wanting to be free and taking a page from her brother, creates a bucket list. Naturally, she immediately visits Gabriel in his townhouse in the middle of the night to ask for […]
My Thoughts “A tale of second chances” How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days is Laura Lee Guhrke’s second book in the An American Heiress in London series. I thought a story focusing on the arranged marriage that was never consummated and the matchmaking failure Belinda (When the Marquess Met His Match, An American Heiress in London #1) made would be a delicious story. However, I was disappointed…again despite Guhrke being a favorite author. I love the premise: arranged marriage, the husband comes back to claim his bride, and hero and heroine discover love. But that was about it. The […]
This is the first book that I read by Gayle Callen and it was a bit of a let down. I had decided to read this when I saw that it was on sale and bought it on a whim.
Grace Banbury goes to London to try to salvage what is left of their inheritance when her mother gambles away everything in a card game. When she arrives in London, she discovers that their town house is empty and devoid of any servants and she also meets Daniel Throckmorten, the newest owner. Daniel, thinking that she is her brother’s mistress, starts to make a proposition.
MY THOUGHTS At first, I did not like Antonia at all. Sure, I felt that she was acting appropriately when she said that she hated all rakes, ergo hating Lord Ranelaw however, there was just something about her that I just did not like. That is, until the end when I found out what she went through when she was disowned by her father. I was a little surprised about what Antonia went through when she ran away with Johnny (the rake who broke her heart 10 years ago) and I was also puzzled why her brother didn’t even bother […]
This is the first book of the series that I read and I loved it. It has to be one of the best Lisa Kleypas novels that I have read to date. The premise is that Gothic author Sara Fielding, looking for more material for her next serial accidentally finds a man being attacked and saves him from certain death. This man is Derek Craven, a gambler turned businessman/owner of an exclusive London club. And so starts their road to finding love. I fell in love with Derek Craven the moment I met him. Course and gruff, he is the […]
