I Wanted More Heat! Losing It & Keeping Her by Cora Carmack [Audiobook Review]

I Wanted More Heat! Losing It & Keeping Her by Cora Carmack [Audiobook Review]

This is the first book that I read written by Cora Carmack and I enjoyed it! This is another taboo romance because the hero is her professor but he is also not that much older than the heroine. The good thing about this romance is that they didn’t really “hookup” until AFTER the heroine’s graduation! Losing It was a perfect New Adult listen for me during the holidays because it was pretty short and sweet. Although, I wanted there to be more heat and sexy times! So yeah, this book felt too sweet for the New Adult romances that I had been […]

Opposites Attract | Rule by Jay Crownover [Audiobook Review]

Opposites Attract | Rule by Jay Crownover [Audiobook Review]

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review.   Rule was another surprising read in 2017 when I was on a New Adult kick. I had read Jay Crownover before when I read her Welcome to the Point series. Rule is a little bit different than her Welcome to the Point series because it is a New Adult romance – but it was still dark and emotional. Rule is a typical hate-to-love-girl-in-love-with-best-friend’s-brother trope but I liked the new spin Jay Crownover injected into it. In Love with Best Friend’s Brother This is one of my […]

Meh Reads [Skinny Reviews]

Meh Reads [Skinny Reviews]

This book came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors and you know what, the plot sounds AMAZING! The hero, Lachlain, who is a Lycan has been in prison for almost a hundred years when he scents his mate and chews off his foot to escape. The heroine is a half vampire, half Valkyrie. Vampires and Lycans are at war with each other. Amazing, right? WRONG! I was hugely disappointed. I had such high expectations and I ended up being let down. I liked Lachlain but I HATED Emmaline! Sure, the book started out really good but by the […]

Heartbreaking and Real | Wait for You, Trust in Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout [Audiobook Review]

Heartbreaking and Real | Wait for You, Trust in Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout [Audiobook Review]

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I don’t really know what made me pick-up wait for you by Jennifer L. Armentrout (writing as J. Lynn). To be honest, I received four of the books in this series a couple of years ago but since this wasn’t a genre that interested me, I didn’t bother reading it. Let’s just say that I am kicking myself because I didn’t read these books. I don’t even KNOW WHY I picked it up and whatever fairy impelled me to pick it up, THANK YOU SO MUCH […]

Sexy, Sexy, Sexy! Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren [Audiobook Review]

Sexy, Sexy, Sexy! Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren [Audiobook Review]

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. This is the second book written by duo writing team Christina Lauren that I read, and I was a bit skeptical. Sure, it felt a little too NA and I was pretty annoyed at the first quarter of the book – the Vegas part because it was just too stupid! I mean, not stupid, STUPID but stupid because I know I would totally not do what these girls did. Also, because I am an introvert, I just CANNOT understand marrying a stranger like that. That said, […]

This Book was Hilarious! The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare Audiobook Review

This Book was Hilarious! The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I received an ARC for this book a few months before it was set to release but I had a hard time getting into it. I love Tessa Dare but that first chapter was excruciating.  I knew immediately that I would be listening to this book on audio so I waited until the release date and borrowed a copy of it from the library. Holy smokes The Duchess Deal blew me away! I don’t even know I had a hard time reading it in the […]

Starfall by Melissa Landers | DNF Review

Starfall by Melissa Landers | DNF Review

I am finally DNFing Starfall because OMG the heroine is super annoying and the hero is so beta that I can’t even! It has been a few months since I put this book on hold and the recent restart still did not help at all! I enjoyed Starflight, the first book in the series. The banter was spot on and the characters were amazing! But Starfall totally missed the mark and did not have the same charm as that of the previous book. I eventually had to DNF the audiobook because I just couldn’t listen to Cassia anymore. She was […]

Over Hyped but Okay? Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh Audiobook Review

Over Hyped but Okay? Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I have to be very honest with you. I was extremely excited when I heard about this book. Supposedly, it has similar themes to Mulan in that our heroine dresses up as a boy. When I finally got around to reading it….uhmm I was in a for a slight let down. It’s not what I expected at all. I thought there would be more action but instead, I got a lot of Mariko’s internal musings. Again, it was okay but the story didn’t blow me away. […]

This Totally Surprised Me! Jackaby by William Ritter Audiobook Review

This Totally Surprised Me! Jackaby by William Ritter Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. Hello, Paranormal! I absolutely enjoyed this book so much and I can’t believe I waited a couple of years before I read this book! I mean, it has been on my TBR pile for the longest time! I also have a physical copy of this book but I decided to go for the audiobook version, which I DO NOT regret at all! I mean, picture Sherlock Holmes in America during the late 1800s with a touch of the paranormal! And of course, I LOVE a […]
