Romeo & Juliet, X-Men & Revenge | Renegades by Marissa Meyer Audiobook Review

Romeo & Juliet, X-Men & Revenge | Renegades by Marissa Meyer Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review.   Renegades is a book that I have been putting off for a while. I have been very hesitant in diving in because of the lackluster early reviews. It’s unfortunate, really because Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite YA authors. I finally listened to the audiobook this month and I liked it? So, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this book. Let’s just say that it is a very sloooooow book. I mean, the world building is amazing! In fact, it’s as vivid as her world […]

Winter by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Winter by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

MY THOUGHTS So The Lunar Chronicles has come to an end and I have bittersweet feelings about it.  I guess this just stems out of me not wanting this series to ever end!  I mean, there are still loose ends to tie! The moment I finished listening to this book, I had book hangover and I couldn’t wait to talk to someone about it.  Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone who read the book and hubby still hasn;t finished reading it.  Plus he is no fun with book discussions because he just grunts and says “ok” or “it’s good” so… Anyway, […]

Fairest by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Fairest by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

MY THOUGHTS Let me just tell you that when I read Cinder, I hated Levana on sight (when I read her in the first book Cinder, I mean)!  She really felt like some weird, ugly crypt keeper-like Lunar with the veil concealing her face from the public, and even from us, the readers. So, when I heard that she was going to have her own story, I was excited!  This novella would be the answer to all the questions that had been on my mind.  Like:  What’s with the f-ing veil? or Why do you insist on marrying Prince Kai […]

Cress by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Cress by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Before starting my review, I would like to apologize to my readers for posting a blank post for this review a few weeks back.  With my pending vacation (I am still on said vacay), I was unaware that I set this review to post when I haven’t even written it!  So, please pardon my flightiness! My Thoughts Warning: This review may contain spoilers Since I read Scarlet, I have been super excited to read Cress because let’s face it, Thorn is a very interesting character!  In fact, I was hoping that Thorn would be the hero in this book.  I was not […]

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts “Unique.  I couldn’t put it down! A must read!” Scarlet is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles series and it is my favorite (I’ve also read Cress) so far!  I absolutely love this retelling of Little Red Riding Hood!  Ms. Meyer has a way of merging both stories – Cinder ( a retelling of Cinderella)  and Scarlet.  It is seamlessly done and very well written. Scarlet focuses on the story of  Scarlet Benoit (Little Red Riding Hood) and Wolf in relation to the whole series.  Scarlet’s grandmother, Michelle Benoit an Imperial Pilot (or something) has gone missing […]

Evermore by Alyson Noël | Audiobook Review

Evermore by Alyson Noël | Audiobook Review

My Thoughts “Meh…unbelievable” I don’t know how to start this review at all.  Having said that, I know that I am not going to pick up the sequels – ever (pun intended)!  If you do want to try this out, check out your local library (which I thankfully did) to see if you like it. The story starts off pretty strong.  Ever Bloom (right?!) is the only survivor of a fatal car crash and she moves to Laguna Beach, California to live with her father’s twin sister.  The result of the car crash?  She can see auras and can read […]
