The heroine stole the show! From Duke Till Dawn by Eva Leigh | Book Review + GIveaway

The heroine stole the show! From Duke Till Dawn by Eva Leigh | Book Review + GIveaway

I received this book for free from the Publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.   Don’t want to read the excerpt?  Click to jump to the Review? London, England 1817 A woman laughed, and Alexander Lewis, Duke of Greyland felt the sound like a gunshot to his chest. It was a very pleasant laugh, low and musical rather than shrill and forced, yet it sounded like The Lost Queen’s laugh. Alex could not resist the urge to glance over his shoulder as […]

Firebird Trilogy by Claudia Gray Skinny Audiobook Review

Firebird Trilogy by Claudia Gray Skinny Audiobook Review

A Thousand Pieces of You was a re-listen for me last year. I listened to the audiobook in 2014 when it first came out because of the GORGEOUS cover! Other than that, I thought it was amazing! This is the first book in the Firebird Trilogy and centers around the Caine family and Marguerite, the daughter of scientists who invented time travel using their time machine necklace called the Firebird. The whole plot of the first book revolves around trying to find Marguerite’s father who is trapped in another multiverse. My first reaction to this book was AWE! This book had me riveted, especially […]

This will definitely tear at your heartstrings! Any Time and Any Place by Jennifer Probst Book Review

This will definitely tear at your heartstrings! Any Time and Any Place by Jennifer Probst Book Review

I received this book for free from the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.   Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I enjoyed reading Everywhere and Every Way, the first book in this series (still haven’t reviewed it because I was a slacker in 2016). To say I was intrigued is an understatement. I was HOOKED! As with any Jennifer Probst book, we get a lot of romance and heartache and chemistry! HGTV Roots! Back […]

Something in Between by Melissa de la Cruz | Audiobook Review

Something in Between by Melissa de la Cruz | Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I honestly don’t know how to review this book. When I finished listening to the audiobook, I was hit with homesickness. If you don’t know already, I am an immigrant (now a US citizen) and I am Filipino, so this book really hit home for me. Coincidentally, my turn for the library cue came a few days before the US Presidential Election, which I thought was very appropriate. I had to read this. In fact, I finished listening to the audiobook on election day. I admit to […]

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund | Book Review

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund | Book Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. It took me a while (well years, really) to finally read this. I first For Darkness Shows the Stars a little after it came out and I was blown away by the awesome cover! I mean, LOOK AT THAT COVER! And the title is GENIUS! Anyway, fast forward to three months ago when I had some time to finally be inspired to read it. I think my mood just fit! I was FINALLY able to finish it! So, just as an aside, I haven’t READ or even […]

Basically MY Life Story – Minus the FanFic Fame | Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell | Audiobook Review

Basically MY Life Story – Minus the FanFic Fame | Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell | Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review?  Click to jump to the Skinny Review. I didn’t have any expectations going into Fangirl. Sure, I had heard a lot of awesome things about Rainbow Rowell, but I honestly haven’t picked up her books. I DID have Fangirl and Carry On signed by Rainbow Rowel at Yallwest earlier this year, but I gave my Fangirl copy to my cousin who absolutely ADORES Rainbow! Anyway, in preparation for reading Carry On (which I STILL HAVEN’T DONE!), I decided to read Fangirl first and I WAS AMAZED! I mean, if you are a total […]

Searching For Series by Jennifer Probst | Audiobook Review

Searching For Series by Jennifer Probst | Audiobook Review

It’s pretty obvious that I have been hooked to Contemporary Romance for the last month. I blame Sophie Jordan for this! Not, that I am super mad or anything but I am feeling the LOVE! To be honest, I haven’t been reading a lot of contemporaries. The first ones I read were a few chick lits and some thriller/romantic suspense (that was more on the romance side), and of course contemporary erotic romances. But honestly, I wasn’t really hooked. Well, until NOW! I honestly am NOT looking back! And yes, I have read quite a few contemporaries since I finished reading this series! Don’t […]

We Found Love Right Where We Are | Hell Breaks Loose by Sophie Jordan | Book Review + Blog Tour

We Found Love Right Where We Are | Hell Breaks Loose by Sophie Jordan | Book Review + Blog Tour

I received this book for free from the Publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.   I thought I would show TWO inspirations!  A before and after set: one for when Grace was a proper First Daughter and the other when Grace decided to follow her dreams! The Prim & Proper set is elegant and simple.  I see Grace rocking these outfits while campaigning for her father, the President.  I picked simple and neutral colors for this set. Now, this set is inspired by […]

A Sizzling Romance with a Bad Boy | All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan | Audiobook Review

A Sizzling Romance with a Bad Boy | All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan | Audiobook Review

I thought this was a great way to start my review, by sharing my clothing inspiration based on All Chained Up!  There is also a specific scene where I got this inspiration from, the Fourth of July (I can’t remember which holiday precisely) barbecue Briar’s sister had AND where Knox was not precisely invited.  Needless to say that the party did not end well.  Anyway, I am predicting future barbecues where Knox IS invited and I am envisioning Briar to be wearing a fun sundress with sandals!  What do you think?
