I’ll start with reviewing my favorite story of the three novellas, The Sweetest Sin. I absolutely adore the two protagonists Landon and Julianna who were eloped five years ago. It should have been a happy ending but their marriage was annulled when Julianna’s father, Lord Trevington, caught up to them and forced her to marry the Duke of Breckinhill. The story, however, starts when five years later, Julianna, now a widow goes to Landon for help to save her sister Evelyn who their father has used to pay off his gambling debts. Naturally, Landon asks that she become his mistress […]

Ridiculously Short Plot A courtesan gets blackmailed into helping an ex-spy capture a traitor Main Characters Fallon/Maggie Warrick Fitzhugh Themes Undercover Agent/Spy Rags to Riches Setting London, England Favorite Lines “It’s about time you came to bed,” Warrick said. It was too dark to see his pocket watch, but he gauged the time close to five in the morning. “I’ve been waiting for hours.” “Oh, how rude of me,” she said, her voice quite low and husky in the shadowed room. He could hear her fumbling about and realized she probably sought her tinderbox. “To keep an uninvited man waiting.” […]
Ridiculously Short Plot Lady Catherine Mabry strikes a bargain with Lucian, the Devil Earl to have someone killed and they fall in love in the process. Main Characters Lady Catherine Mabry Lucian Langdon, Earl of Claybourne Themes Oliver Twist Murder plots Amnesia/PTSD Setting London, England – 1851 MY THOUGHTS I haven’t read this book in quite a while and re-reading it again made me fall in love with Lucien all over again! I felt that this book was fresh (even though I had read it before) and perfect for my mood last week (which is why I am currently re-reading […]
Another favorite! I obtained this book while browsing a local second hand bookstore back in the Philippines and bought it when it became available via ebook. Sadly, I left my paperback in the PH and hopefully, it will still remain in good shape. This book starts off with Baron Guy of Montague arriving at Halford Hall and spotting Lady Claudia. Guy is immediately intrigued by her and plans to make her his bride. That is, until Baron Lonsdale hatches a plot to keep Guy from obtaining Halford Hall at a fair price. Unfortunately, this plot ends up with Guy and […]
I have read and re-read this book multiple times and it has never failed to entertain me. I love the story and to be honest, I have read at least once in each book cover design. Here are the covers: This is a unique story, I thought and I never expected the twist in the end when it was revealed who the real Hunter was. When it was revealed that the stranger was Hunter’s half brother, I felt that it was a little bit unsettling to a certain extent but I still enjoyed reading this story. The story starts off […]
Let me just say that I fell in love with Cross and Philippa the first time I read their verbal sparring. Both of these characters are so likable and the chemistry between the two pretty much jumped off the page! Pippa is really naive, adventurous, and too serious for her own good that I was practically laughing at her notions and thoughts. I also thought she was the perfect match for Cross who I see as a sensitive man despite his sordid past and reputation….
I read this book in a few short hours and I thought it was okay. I decided to buy this novella because I had already read the first book in the series, When in Paris… and I was very interested about Rebecca and Scott’s story. We first meet the two in the When in Paris… where there appeared to be tension between the two.
MY THOUGHTS I read the Dreaming of You first and was intrigued by Lily Lawson. In the book Dreaming of You, she was portrayed as a respectable lady albeit with a dubious past. In the first few chapters, I wasn’t warming up to Lily as I should. I thought her antics (especially the one mentioned in the first chapter) were ridiculous. However, as the story progressed, I empathized with her. The hero, Alex Raiford, is not as dark as Derek Craven (who I absolutely love) however, I think he is the perfect match to Lily’s headstrong character. I enjoyed reading the […]
