Rainy Day Steamy Romance Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

formerly hosted at The Broke and the Bookish

OMG! It’s been a while since I posted a Top Ten Tuesday list! But yeah, I am so ready to get back into the listicle grind again!

It’s spring and we just had a long rainy season here in SoCal. And while the weather is already warming up, I remember the books I read during those cold, rainy days!

Of course, I am going to share steamy romance reads, since they are perfect to keep you warm during rainy days when all you want to do is snuggle in bed and read!

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Paranormal Romance

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Just because paranormal feels like a Halloween read doesn’t mean you can’t read it in Spring! I highly recommend this romance between a half-human/half-vampire VAMPIRE killer and a vampire! Yeah, it’s complicated but the steam factor is guaranteed to keep you warm!

Follow by Tessa Bailey

Contemporary Romance

Follow by Tessa Bailey

A man on the run, a woman paid to bring him back, and a dog named South Paw. Also, the man is a mob boss’ billionaire son and the woman is a hustler trying to save her brother’s life from said mob boss. And typical of a Tessa Bailey romance, the steam factor is out of this world!

Midnight Action by Elle Kennedy

Romantic Suspense

Midnight Action by Elle Kennedy

I’m a fan of Elle Kennedy’s Killer Instincts series but Noelle and Jim’s romance is my fave! Oh, and did I tell you that this is a second chance romance? And that the hero is a leader of an ex-military elite mercenary team? And the heroine is the leader of a group of female assassins? YES! YOU’RE WELCOME! Also, there are some angry sexy times here, plus action and romance!

Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger

Contemporary Slow Burn Romance

Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger

Did I tell you that this is a slow burn romance? I will say this again, I am not a fan BUT Melt for You CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR ME! We have a plus-sized heroine and an angsty alpha sweetie of a rugby hero who slowly romances the heroine and helped her love herself! Also, while it’s a slow burn romance, the build-up is worth it!

Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren

New Adult Contemporary Romance

Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Or you know, you wake up one morning married to a hunky French dude and follow him to France instead of dissolving the marriage! So yeah, there is that! I highly recommend this because of the vivid descriptions of Paris. Plus, did I mention the steam factor? And that last scene where the hero follows the heroine back home in San Diego? Priceless!

Evernight by Kristen Callihan

Steampunk Romance

Evernight by Kristen Callihan

Historical and Paranormal mash-up anyone?! Steampunk is one genre that I thought I couldn’t get into until I read Evernight because this book is off the rails good! The hero is cursed and is an assassin for hire. The heroine is the one who can save him AND also his next mark. Until he finds out that she is the only one who can save him from his madness and the metal trying to take over his body and mind! I tell ya, there is a lot of girl power scenes here plus a teeny bit of BDSM with the hero tied up in bed with the metal frames.

Waking Up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath

Historical Romance

Waking Up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath

I absolutely LOVE Lorraine Heath and she is one that wrote this taboo romance that I absolutely fell for! The heroine is married to her husband who was paralyzed due to his actions. His cousin, the Duke, feels that he is responsible for it. The husband then begs his cousin the Duke to get his wife preggers. Yeah, it’s bananas but there is amazing relationship build-up between the heroine and the Duke. Plus, we find out what the heroine’s husband did, which will have you rooting for the heroine and the Duke. Also, making babies and steam!

Taken by the Duke by Jess Michaels

Erotic Historical Romance

Taken by the Duke by Jess Michaels

Yes, it’s erotic. Yes, there are steamy sexy times. Also, it’s a Romeo & Juliet retelling! The hero is out for revenge and kidnaps his enemy’s sister and takes her to his castle! Also, did I mention that this is an erotic historical romance? By the way, the audiobook is part of the Audible Romance Package!

My Fair Mistress by Tracy Anne Warren

Historical Romance

My Fair Mistress by Tracy Anne Warren

Picture this: a young widow making a bargain with a rich financier to save her brother from losing his estate. And said rich financier wants to get rid of her and proposes that she become his mistress and she surprisingly agrees. Yes. That happened. Also, this book is really romantic and emotional and a little bit scandalous at the same time!

Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti

Romantic Suspense

Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti

Captain America meets romance! The hero is a super soldier who has amnesia! The heroine is his ex-wife who he hasn’t seen for a few years and had to identify him at the hospital. He wants to know why he left. She can’t tell him because she doesn’t know. Secrets and lies and yes, sexy times! Also, we meet the other brothers!

  1. The only thing that I’ve read on your list is the Elle Kennedy and the Lorraine Heath. Both are books that I enjoyed so I need to make note of the others on your list. They sound pretty good so I’m in!
