When in Paris… by Beverley Kendall | Book Review

When in Paris… by Beverley Kendall | Book Review

The book starts in French class when Olivia Montgomery locks eyes with Zachary Pearson her longtime high school crush.  Unbeknownst to Olivia, Zach also shares the same attraction but was giving her the cold/cool attitude because he couldn’t act on his feelings.  Apparently, Olivia’s mother had an affair with his uncle which resulted in divorce.  As a result, he was trying to deny his attraction to her and was pretty much indifferent. Their friendship started when April, Olivia’s best friend invited her to have dinner with another friend Troy, Zach’s roommate.  April and Troy try to match them up together […]

After the Abduction by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

After the Abduction by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

I am currently reading Sabrina Jeffries’ backlist.  I believe I started reading some of her backlist last year, but I wasn’t able to read any book from the Swanlea Spinster Series.  This book can be read as a stand alone however, there are mentions of the other sisters.  Unfortunately, this story picks up after Juliet gets abducted (hence the title After the Abduction, duh!) so we never get to read about how she was abducted but we do get an answer as to why. As I have mentioned, the story starts about 2 years after Juliet Laverick gets abducted […]

Book Challenge 2013: A Year of Romance

Book Challenge 2013: A Year of Romance

I am quite intrigued about reading challenges! Last year, I did a challenge over at Goodreads and did not follow through. This year, though I am back with a vengeance. See, I love to read, and despite reading a lot of books last year, I did not log it anywhere at all. My Goodreads account was basically…dead. In fact, my blogs were dead. I guess, I was just too lazy to update and to blog in the last couple of years since starting real work. But whatever the reason why my online persona became silent, it has decided to overtake […]

I am joining the A-Z Book Challenge hosted by Lindsey at Babies, Books and Beyond.  I will be reading and reviewing book titles or authors that start with the letters of the alphabet.  So yeah, I will be lazy!  As a bonus challenge for myself, I will not count the books if I haven’t reviewed them.   A – After the Abduction by Sabrina Jeffries B – By Love Unveiled by Sabrina Jeffries C – Cinder by Marissa Meyer D – Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas E – Everneath by Brodi Ashton F G H – Her Perfect Match […]

Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas | Book Review

Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas | Book Review

MY THOUGHTS I read the Dreaming of You first and was intrigued by Lily Lawson. In the book Dreaming of You, she was portrayed as a respectable lady albeit with a dubious past. In the first few chapters, I wasn’t warming up to Lily as I should. I thought her antics (especially the one mentioned in the first chapter) were ridiculous. However, as the story progressed, I empathized with her. The hero, Alex Raiford, is not as dark as Derek Craven (who I absolutely love) however, I think he is the perfect match to Lily’s headstrong character. I enjoyed reading the […]

How to Woo a Reluctant Lady by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

How to Woo a Reluctant Lady by Sabrina Jeffries | Book Review

MY THOUGHTS Giles and Minerva are the perfect pair! The third book in the Hellions of Halstead Hall series is one if my favorites. Miranda starts falling in love with Giles as a young child during her parent’s death, however, falls out of love when Giles gave her the set down in her teens. Because of this, Minerva started writing serials with Giles as the villain. Giles had to put a stop to it as she was starting to allude to Giles’ undercover duties to the Crown. Although Minerva denies her feelings for Giles, she hasn’t stopped loving him I […]
