Since February was a really short month, I got to read FOUR books. It really seemed like the month of love was not my pick to read romance novels. LOL Oh and there will also be no Friday Faves feature today since I will be doing this instead. My Thoughts “A tale of second chances” How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days is Laura Lee Guhrke’s second book in the An American Heiress in London series. I thought a story focusing on the arranged marriage that was never consummated and the matchmaking failure Belinda (When the Marquess Met His Match, An American Heiress in London #1) made would be a delicious story. However, I was disappointed…again despite Guhrke being a favorite author. I love the premise: arranged marriage, the husband comes back to claim his bride, and hero and heroine discover love. But that was about it. The […]
Warning: This review may contain spoilers “Amazing. Unique. I couldn’t put it down!” Let me just start with WOW! Just. WOW! I can’t help but gush about this book. I had initially heard a lot of good things about it and I decided to give it a go. Little did I know that I would immediately be sucked into a weird and different world. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner is the first book in the Starbound Trilogy. The story, set in the future where space travel is possible, focuses on the struggle and growth of two amazing characters: […]
Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish There are a lot of authors that I haven’t read but for this Top Ten Tuesday list, I am picking Top Ten Popular Authors that I WANT to read but have NEVER read. I picked Suzanne as the number 1 author that I have yet to read. In fact, all the books in THE HUNGER GAMES series are in my physical bookshelf right now waiting to be read. My hubby has already read the trilogy so I guess, there is no excuse for me not to have read it. Right? J.R.R. Tolkien. Do […]
Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Happy Friday everyone! This week, I am sharing my new one click author Sarah MacLean. I finished the three books in The Rule of Scoundrels series and have started on the third book in her debut series Love by Numbers. I just barely started reading Eleven Scoundrels to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart and I love the sparks flying between the H and h! Another thing I love about Sarah MacLean is the unexpected twist that she added in […]
When the Duke was Wicked is Lorraine Heath’s first book in her brand new series Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James. You should note that this newest series flows with her other series Scoundrels of St. James, in that the main characters are Lady Grace Mabry (Sterling and Frannie’s daughter in Surrender to the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James #3) and Henry, the Duke of Lovingdon (Olivia Stanton’s son in Between the Devil and Desire (Scoundrels of St. James #2). This story kicks of the series in a good note since it slowly introduces us to the other scandalous gentlemen that […]
Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish I decided to pick the Top Ten Bookish Resolutions for the rewind topic today. So far, I haven’t made a dent with this list… figures 🙂 Reach my reading goal of 60 books. Last year, I was 7 books shy of making my goal. All of those books were on my currently reading list and I loathe the fact that I wasn’t able to read anything in December. Check out my 2013 year in [Book] Review. Read books written by Filipino authors. I am Filipino and I am personally disappointed by myself because […]
Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. I have been in a Young-Adult kick for the last couple of weeks and I have been picking up more YA books than usual. Good thing, too because I found a little gem hidden in my TBR pile since last year. This little book is called These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. What an amazing read! More about this when I finally get the time to review the book. And don’t you just love the cover?
