Ian Bradley is the definition of a Wall Street hotshot: seven-figure salary, designer suits, and a corner office. His drive off the floor is just as potent. Every woman who knows him has felt the rush. But now he’s met his match in Lara McKenzie—a woman with the power to bring Ian to his knees.
An ambitious, whip-smart daughter of FBI agents, Lara is a rising star in fighting white-collar crime. Her latest case—the investigation of Ian Bradley for insider trading—could make her career. She knows a scoundrel when she sees one. Ian fits the bill: a cocky, ridiculously handsome bad boy with a slick swagger.
She’ll do anything to prove he’s guilty. He’ll do anything to prove he’s not. But it’s only a matter of time before their fierce battle of wits gets oh so hot and personal. Now, taking down Ian has become more than business for Lara. It’s become a pleasure—and there’s more at risk than she ever dreamed.

Hot Asset is my first Lauren Layne book and I won’t be my last! I actually read the second book Hard Sell already and it was also as good!
I am such a fan of the forbidden romance trope and the thought of a Wall Street Investor and an SEC investigator would be an awesome pair? And would this even be possible?! One of my guilty pleasures is watching the docu-series on MSNBC American Greed so I’m pretty familiar with how this thing goes.
I love Lara! She is a strong heroine with morals and she is the perfect heroine for Wall Street and arrogant hotshot, Ian! Lara is the SEC Agent investigating Ian for insider trading and the chemistry between the two blazed through the pages from their first meet-cute! I am someone who loves good banter, and Hot Asset did not disappoint.
I also love that Lara had morals. She was also very conflicted because this investigation was her in into the FBI – her main goal. Because this is a romance, I love that Ian and Lara didn’t hook up right off the bat! It was kind of a slow burn and when they finally did – it was satisfying and realistic.
Another thing that stood out to me was the compromise that Ian did just so he can keep Lara in the end. I am one for compromise, especially when your goals and your partner’s goals go in separate directions.
I am really excited about this series and we meet all the three Wall Street hotshots and I can’t wait to finish the series!
