I hate hype and I actually go out of my way to avoid overly hyped books! That said, I wish more bloggers, readers, and bookstagrammers would talk about these books more often!
So I hope you have read these books and if you haven’t GO FORTH AND READ!
The Falconer Trilogy by Elizabeth May
This is one series that I wish more people will read! I think it’s one of the most underrated steampunk paranormal YA books ever! The heroine is a Falconer – one who fights the fae from crossing over into the real world and she is trained by a mysterious fairy Kiaran MacKay. The end of the book is spectacular and I can’t wait to finish the series myself!
The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd
Here is another trilogy that totally surprised me! This was creepy and awesome and so Victorian and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The three books are retellings of famous classic books – The Madman’s Daughter for The Island of Dr. Moreau, Her Dark Curiosity for The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and A Cold Legacy for Frankenstein. The trilogy is well developed with interesting characters!
Reboot Duology by Amy Tintera
One of my favorite YA sci-fi dystopia books! The premise is that when someone dies, they get rebooted – the longer they rise the longer they feel less human. They’re not exactly zombies, they’re also not robots and they’re also not vampires, but something in between – like they are faster and they heal fast. Nevertheless, I love the premise and you should definitely read them!
Mila 2.0 Trilogy by Debra Driza
It’s no secret that I love androids and this YA series checked all the boxes! It’s a romance, too! I love the fact that Mila is an AI that doesn’t know that she is an android! Her backstory is nuts, though but I won’t spoil that for you!
My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan
I hardly read Women’s Fiction but this book blew me away! It’s a New Adult Women’s Fiction with elements of romance and wow! It was emotional and heartbreaking and so sweet! I wish more people talk about this book!
The Scoundrels of St. James Series by Lorraine Heath
I feel like nobody talks about this series a lot. It’s one of the brilliant retellings and it needs to be read ASAP! The whole series is sort of an Oliver Twist retelling and Charles Dickens actually makes an appearance in book 1! Lorraine Heath has a couple of spin-off series featuring a few of the kids in Scoundrels.
The Van Alen Sisters by Megan McKinney
This is one of my favorite old school historical romances set in the United States! If you haven’t read this duology, you should NOW! Both books are available on KU and the Audible Romance Package so if you subscribe, you have no excuse not to read them! This duology is centered on the two Van Alen Sisters that lead two different lives! Lions & Lace is set in Gilded Age New York while Fair is the Rose is a Western!
Necklace Trilogy by Kat Martin
Don’t you know that Kat Martin used to write historicals? Well, she was my intro to the modern Regency way before I discovered Lisa Kleypas! Her Necklace trilogy is one amazing series, featuring amazing heroines and a cursed necklace that would bring bad luck to the wearer who wasn’t pure of heart or good luck and true love to those with a pure heart. If you haven’t read these books, the audiobooks are on the Audible Romance Package!
