A dedicated cop, Sawyer Quinn blows off steam by immersing himself in his role as a Master at the hottest club in Las Vegas. But when Sawyer goes after the perp who brutally beat his sister, he teams up with Chloe Nash, a sexy private investigator who awakens a sweet new need: to keep her to himself, away from the dungeon of Club Sin. Chloe is beautiful, smart, and too innocent for the BDSM lifestyle. Sawyer’s never wanted a woman like this before. Is her love worth swearing off the one thing that keeps him sane?
There’s something different about Sawyer: a commanding strength that pulls Chloe into a vortex of heady desire. But when she learns about his double life as a Dom, she’s shocked—and afraid she could never complete him. Then he saves her life, and just like that, Chloe knows she will be able to give him anything he desires. She is his—wherever and however he wants to take her.
I hardly read BDSM romance because it just isn’t my thing. But I was attracted to the awesome sexy back cover so I decided to request it on NetGalley.
I was really surprised that I enjoyed it. For a BDSM romance, I felt that there wasn’t too much cringe worthy kink (which is what I wanted anyway) but the sexy times is very, very scorching. The first chapter opens up with a BDSM “teaching” scene so it wasn’t too crazy and really made me read more. This story also read very fast and I was able to finish it in one sitting. And I have to emphasize again that there isn’t too scary/crazy kink going on (yes, I like it like that!).
Chloe, the heroine is a PI and met Sawyer (in earlier books, I believe) because Sawyer is friends with her boss. He reached out to his friend when his sister gets brutally attacked and Chloe is assigned to the case. Chloe, now single is trying hard not to fall for the super hot Sawyer.
What really made me enjoy reading this book is that the two main characters, Chloe and Sawyer were really awesome together. I liked the balance that these two opposites had: Sawyer, the jaded alpha male and Chloe, the naive sub. I also liked that despite being the Alpha, Sawyer was very considerate towards Chloe in introducing her to the lifestyle. He isn’t the typical alpha, I have to tell you that.
The story is fast paced, with not a lot of extra subplots which was perfect!
4 hearts for Commanded and I am definitely going to read the other 5 books in the series!
