Hot Damn! Crossing the Line Series by Tessa Bailey [Audiobook Review]

Hot Damn! Crossing the Line Series by Tessa Bailey [Audiobook Review]

Hot damn, the Crossing the Lineย series was awesome overall! I actually binge-listened this series (not in order, mind you) and it was good. Overall, I gave this series 4/5 hearts, but each individual book has a rating range of 3-4 hearts. Theย Crossing the Lineย series has a 60-40 balance between suspense and romance, where romance gets the largest chunk of each of the books. This is exactly what I love! I do wish there was more action in the books, though. Also, I love all the female heroes are unique in their own way, kick-ass and have baggage! It’s refreshing since […]

Meh Reads [Skinny Reviews]

Meh Reads [Skinny Reviews]

This book came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors and you know what, the plot sounds AMAZING! The hero, Lachlain, who is a Lycan has been in prison for almost a hundred years when he scents his mate and chews off his foot to escape. The heroine is a half vampire, half Valkyrie. Vampires and Lycans are at war with each other. Amazing, right? WRONG! I was hugely disappointed. I had such high expectations and I ended up being let down. I liked Lachlain but I HATED Emmaline! Sure, the book started out really good but by the […]

Skinny Reviews: That Time I Read Paranormal

Skinny Reviews: That Time I Read Paranormal

Click book title to jump to the review:ย My Life as a White Trash Zombieย |ย Moon Called I haven’t read a lot of paranormal books in a while. I mean, I absolutely love a good vampire book (I absolutely love theย Night Huntressย series), but I haven’t really ventured into the other paranormal staples like zombies and werewolves. Sure, I love watching movies and TV shows featuring these creatures, but it is not something that I actually love to read. I have been reading a lot of historical romances lately and I picked paranormal to genre cleanse. I bought My Life as aย White Trash […]

A Sexy Fast and Furious Inspired Series! Welcome to the Point by Jay Crownover Skinny Review

A Sexy Fast and Furious Inspired Series! Welcome to the Point by Jay Crownover Skinny Review

I was thoroughly surprised by this book. Seriously. I did NOT expect to love it at all, but LOVE it, I DID! This book superbly introduces the fictitious city of “the Point” that I compare to Los Angeles, thereby making me think aboutย The Fast and the Furious series. Better When He’s Bad really reminds me ofย The Fast and the Furious. Now, I’m not really a fan of the series but Iย had to watch it with Pierre so, I have seen all 7 (Gawd!). Anyways, this book reminds me of it. Maybe because Bax actually rides a badass car AND also […]

Firebird Trilogy by Claudia Gray Skinny Audiobook Review

Firebird Trilogy by Claudia Gray Skinny Audiobook Review

A Thousand Pieces of You was a re-listen for me last year. I listened to the audiobook in 2014 when it first came out because of the GORGEOUS cover! Other than that, I thought it was amazing! This is the first book in theย Firebirdย Trilogy and centers around the Caine family and Marguerite, the daughter of scientists who invented time travel using their time machine necklace called theย Firebird.ย The whole plot of the first book revolves around trying to find Marguerite’s father who is trapped in another multiverse. My first reaction to this book was AWE! This book had me riveted, especially […]

The Lunar Chronicles: Wires & Nerve & The Lunar Chronicles Coloring Book

The Lunar Chronicles: Wires & Nerve & The Lunar Chronicles Coloring Book

I have been waiting forย Wires and Nerve since I found out about this last year! I was dragging my feet, though and only read it this month! Why did I ever drag my feet?! I guess I was scared? Maybe? If you have been dragging your feet like me, stop and pick upย Wires and Nerve becauseย it is amazing! Wires and Nerve is Iko’s story! Finally, she is the heroine! If you haven’t readย The Lunar Chronicles series andย Stars Above, please do so now! There are easter eggs for the last novella inย Stars Above here. Also,ย Wires and Nerve happens afterย Winter and beforeย Something […]

Skinny Reviews: Necklace Trilogy by Kat Martin

Skinny Reviews: Necklace Trilogy by Kat Martin

It has been a number of years since I readย The Bride’s Necklace and I am amazed that I still love it as much as I did when I read it years ago! This story centers around a cursed necklace! Okay, it’s not really cursed but the Bride’s necklace, an antique necklace, is rumored to bring bad luck to those not pure of heart but good luck to those that are pure. Naturally, our heroine Victoria steals it from her dastardly uncle who is out to take advantage of her younger sister, Claire. Victoria and Claire escape to London and Victoria […]

Skinny Reviews: Killer Instincts Series by Elle Kennedy

Skinny Reviews: Killer Instincts Series by Elle Kennedy

Midnight Rescue is the first romantic suspense book that I read in perhaps the longest time. I wasn’t sure how I would like this but I was surprised that I did!ย Midnight Rescue features a very strong heroine, who is an assassin and she also had a lot of baggage! The central plot is a rescue.ย I actually enjoyed the thrill and the backdrop of theย Columbian drug cartel. The romance still has a lot to be said but I liked the chemistry between Abby and Kane. It wasn’t one of my favorites but there were two characters that intrigued me: Trevor and […]

A revolution that missed the mark! The Book of Ivy/TheRevolution of Ivy by Amy Engle | Audiobook Review

A revolution that missed the mark! The Book of Ivy/TheRevolution of Ivy by Amy Engle | Audiobook Review

Don’t want to read the whole review? ย Click to jump to the Skinny Review. This review is going to be a twofer because the second book doesnโ€™t warrant its own review, and I will tell you why. Last year, I read this little book called The Book of Ivy and I loved it!ย  It was a sleeper dystopian that got under my skin before I even knew what was what!ย  It was surprising, to say the least, because this book would not have made it to my reading list if 1) I didnโ€™t like the title, and 2) it wasnโ€™t […]
