Friday Faves: YA Audiobooks

Friday Faves: YA Audiobooks

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Yes!  I am able to find time to write my weekly feature!  I have been really busy these last few weeks and I haven’t been updating as much as I would want to.  Well, whatever.  Excuses. My current obsession is audiobooks.  Not just any genre, mind you, but Young Adult!  I feel that with YA audiobooks, I am able to finish a YA book.  See, as much as I love YA books, my first love is historical romance and […]

Re-reading Your Favorites, Yay or Nay?

Re-reading Your Favorites, Yay or Nay?

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week.   I love re-reading favorite books.  In fact, I love to read them multiple times.  Say, the Harry Potter series – I have probably read them five times which is not a lot in Potter fandom, right?  But I admit to reading my favorite Historical Romances over and over again.  It got to a point where I even had to buy the books again (thank you secondhand bookstores!) because the copies that I read were a. borrowed and never returned; […]

Friday Faves: Revisiting Audiobooks Again

Friday Faves: Revisiting Audiobooks Again

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Last year, I started listening to Audiobooks but for whatever reason I just couldn’t focus and get into the story.  I had started listening to 1984 by George Orwell and The Princess and the Peer by Tracy Anne Warren but I just had to stop.  1984 became a DNR and The Princess and the Peer has been left on hold (I might read you again soon but we’ll see). Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I got […]

Friday Faves: Featuring the Unhappiness of a Bookworm

Friday Faves: Featuring the Unhappiness of a Bookworm

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. I said that this weekly feature would only be about faves but for this week, I digress.  This week, I would like to share my thoughts regarding authors (especially self-pubs) that frequently change the TITLE of their books once they are published.  Pet Peeve alert!  This just makes me furious.  Well, not really THAT furious, but still!  I really hate that I can’t keep track of their books because they change title, cover, AND EVEN SERIES! Here is a […]

Friday Faves: Childhood Movies based on Books

Friday Faves: Childhood Movies based on Books

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Are you a movie buff like me?  Well, to tell you the truth, before I was actively into reading , I was a movie buff.  In fact, I remember seeing The Sound of Music when I was four (I was always comparing myself to little Gretl who was five).  I loved watching movies.  In fact, I still do.  Despite being a reader, I still haven’t read books based on my favorite childhood movies.  Crazy, right?  Unfortunately, I might have […]

Friday Faves #3: I Heart the Los Angeles Public Library

Friday Faves #3: I Heart the Los Angeles Public Library

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. It was a happy HAPPY day for me when I found out that a Los Angeles Public Library branch is just two blocks away from my new place.  I was able to update my address, requested, and checked out a book that I will be using for work last Wednesday.  Okay, so I haven’t checked out a lot of “physical books” from the library in a while BUT I have been using the OVERDRIVE MEDIA App to borrow ebooks […]

Friday Faves: A New One-Click Author

Friday Faves: A New One-Click Author

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. Happy Friday everyone! This week, I am sharing my new one click author Sarah MacLean. I finished the three books in The Rule of Scoundrels series and have started on the third book in her debut series Love by Numbers.  I just barely started reading Eleven Scoundrels to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart and I love the sparks flying between the H and h!  Another thing I love about Sarah MacLean is the unexpected twist that she added in […]

Friday Faves: For the Love of Young-Adult Books

Friday Faves: For the Love of Young-Adult Books

Friday Faves is a feature where I share whatever bookish thing I saw or share books I read during the week. I have been in a Young-Adult kick for the last couple of weeks and I have been picking up more YA books than usual.  Good thing, too because I found a little gem hidden in my TBR pile since last year.  This little book is called These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.  What an amazing read!  More about this when I finally get the time to review the book.  And don’t you just love the cover?

Big Brother is Watching

Big Brother is Watching

No.  I am not talking about the reality show Big Brother.  I am talking about the awesome book 1984 by George Orwell!  This is my first foray into audiobook “reading” and I must say that I am hooked!  I am 2 chapters deep into this awesome book and I am loving it!  So yeah, noob here but hey, I expected not to like listening to an audiobook!  Plus, it helps pass time while stuck in traffic!  And LA traffic is the worst at around 5-ish in the PM. Here’s my favorite line so far: “He who controls the past controls […]
