Happy Tuesday, Wormies! Here are a few of my absolutely favorite books that I read prior to Goodreads and book reviewing, hence the no review part!

These books are a few of my favorites that I have reread multiple times. As much as I love these books, I just don’t feel the need to review them at all. Maybe I will, in time, after a recent reread. But for now, all these 10 books remain unreviewed.

Secret Ways by Kat Martin is perhaps the very first modern romance I read. This features a romance between a demimonde’s daughter and an aristocrat’s son. And also, appearances are not what it seems.

Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite books by the amazing LK that I haven’t reviewed. It’s a prequel of sorts in her best selling Wallflowers series and features another romance between different classes, and second chance romance.

A Battle for Love by Cynthia Wright is a book I read years ago. This book has all the political and court intrigue and a romance between an Englishman and a Frenchwoman orchestrated by people scheming for power.

Secret Desires of a Gentleman by Laura Lee Guhrke is one of my favorite LLG books ever! It has an unrequited romance trope and features a heroine who opens her own bakery! Yes, there is baking here and petit fours and kisses!

Wicked Delights of a Bridal Bed by Tracy Anne Warren is another favorite that features one of my favorite tropes – best friend’s sibling. The hero has also been in love with the heroine for years but was unable to offer for her because of his financial situation. Another romance that brought me to tears.

Passions of a Wicked Earl by Lorraine Heath is one book that was really painful to read. Thank God I read it before I married, otherwise, I would view this book differently. This book is about second chances and healing and love for this married couple.

Say Yes to the Marquess by Tessa Dare is my favorite book in her Castles Ever After series. This is another unrequited love romance, but I love that the heroine is the one that is taking her destiny in her own hands. Also, there is a cake scene here that I absolutely LOVE!

Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas is another one of my LK faves that I never wrote a review for. Lisa Kleypas knows how to redeem villains and she does that to Rhys Winterborne. While this book has similar vibes to Devil in Winter, it can still stand on its own.

Lessons from a Courtesan by Jenna Petersen is probably the first erotic romance I read. While this book is NOT an erotic romance, this was the first one that I read that was really steamy. Back in the day, it just wasn’t done this way! This is another marriage reconciliation story, but the heroine’s main purpose of going to London was to look for her friend and she disguises herself as a courtesan.

Evernight by Kristen Callihan was the very first steampunk romance that I read! While I haven’t read a lot after this, Evernight really blew me away with the amazing romance and paranormal themes that I absolutely want more of!

Do you review all the books that you read?

If no, what stopped you from reviewing them?

  1. Before I started blogging on Lisa Loves Literature, I used to post reviews on Xanga. But I can’t get back to get those reviews, or I would totally go get them and post them to my blog. 🙁 Sometimes I think about doing retro-reviews or something and going back to review those books I’ve loved. Maybe some day. When I have time. Great post!

  2. You love you some historical romances! Yay!! Man, a bunch of these books are books that I’ve read and enjoyed myself. I’d forgotten how much I loved Wicked Delights of a Bridal Bed by Tracy Anne Warren and Passions of a Wicked Earl by Lorraine Heath. Heath is one of my top historical romance authors. She always writes those books that hit you right in your feels.

    Great post, Zee!
