Happy Tuesday, Wormies! I am SUPER excited to share 9 graphic novels/comics that I WANT to read. As you know, I am not such a fan of graphic novels. I have probably read only a number of graphic novels AND a few comic books. I mean, I love looking at the art, but I don’t have the same drive as reading books.

The first book on my list is Wires and Nervewhich I already pre-ordered and I am receiving on Tuesday! Thank you, Amazon! Also, I am VERY excited to read more about Iko and just not leave The Lunar Chronicles world!

Ms. Marvel is another graphic novel that I would love to read. This features a female POC heroine who discovers that she has powers!

Nimona is a YA fantasy graphic novel that is full of snark! I read the reviews and majority have been very positive!

Saga Vol. 2 is another graphic novel that I want to finish. I read Saga Vol 1 last year, but I just couldn’t finish the series. This may be because I just can’t get into graphic novels.

Rat Queens sounds like an amazing graphic novel! According to Goodreads, Rat Queens is, “A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they’re in the business of killing all god’s creatures for profit.” Isn’t that just interesting?

Monstress is a fantasy steampunk graphic novel set in an alternative 1900s Asian world. I mean that alone just caught my interest!

I love watching Game of Thrones, but high fantasy is not my genre and I haven’t read the books yet and I probably wouldn’t. But A Game of Thrones graphic novel sounds like just the thing! It is not too long like the books, too which is perfect!

Soulless is another book to graphic novel adaptation and is a steampunk paranormal series. I wasn’t able to finish reading Etiquette & Espionage, her YA steampunk paranormal series.

Anita Blake Vampire Huter is another graphic novel adapted from the popular Anita Blake series. Also, graphic novels based on vampires are awesome!

Well, I thought I would have at least 10 graphic novels to read this year but I failed!

Have you read any of these graphic novels? Do you have any graphic novels that I should read and add to my graphic novels TBR?

  1. Save for GoT, Soulless, and Wires & Nerve I’ve read all of these.

Cannot recommend Monstress enough. Not only is the story fantastic, the art is stunning. Both Nimona and Rat Queens are super funny and very feminist. Saga is a little bit of everything and is definitely one of my faves. Anita Blake is well… Anita Blake. I stopped reading the books before the comic even launched but it’s not a bad adaptation. Ms. Marvel is one I just got into and I really love the way Marvel in general has brought more diversity to their universe (Squirrel Girl and The Mighty Thor are pretty good too).

I’d also recommend Paper Girls and The Wicked and the Divine, they’re both really good.

    • Ahh thanks for the rec, Cyn! I haven’t read Soulless yet! I was a turned off by the YA series, which I started first… so maybe I will try Soulless then! Hopefully it would be better than the other one!
