1. Best book you read in 2014?

I decided to pick a book in 2 different genres.

Historical Romance:  A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean – an old book but first read in 2014!

Young-Adult:  These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner – one of the YA books that hooked me into reading YA!

 

2. Book you were excited about & thought you were going to love more but didn’t?

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass was horrible!  I was only able to finish the series because it was in Audiobook format.

 

3. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2014?

The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd really blew me away!

 

4. Book you read in 2013 that you recommend to people most in 2014?

Cinder by Marissa Meyer – Although I didn’t really love this book initially, the whole series really captured me, especially the second book, Scarlet.  So yes, I recommended this book a lot last year.

 

5. Best series you discovered in 2014?

Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige

The Madman’s Daughter series by Megan Shepherd

The Ivy Chronicles by Sophie Jordan

 

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2014?

Megan Shepherd

 

7. Best book that was out of your comfort zone or was a new genre for you?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – Yes, I am a little too late reading this book BUT I LOVE it!  I hadn’t read much dystopian books until I read Hunger Games and now, I am loving this genre!

 

8. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2014?

The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd

 

9. Book you read in 2014 that you are most likely to re-read next year?

Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean – I am a little late in reading this series BUT when I read this in 2014, I was hooked!  I love lady Calpurnia!

 

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2014?

Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean – THIS!  A historical romance book featuring a lady in britches!  Plus, the story is just swoon worthy!

Lady Georgiana in Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean

The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd

 

13. Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2014?

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner – This is the first book that started me LOVING the YA genre

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

A LOT but I remember the last chapters of Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare.

Cress and Carswell Thorne from Cress by Marissa Meyer

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – I didn’t want to read it and now I regret NOT reading it before the movie came out!

My I Heart Weekly updates which I had to stop writing because it became too complicated.   I may change this format this year to make it easier for me.

Whimsic Alley but I still haven’t been!

 

10. Did you complete any reading challenge or goals that you set for yourself at the beginning of this year?

YES!  I surpassed my 60 book goal this year and read 119 books!
